ARE YOU DOING THANKFULNESS WRONG?

How old were you when you realized you were expressing thankfulness completely wrong? Today. I was today-years-old. I am thankful when God answers prayers. And I sure don’t have any problem calling on Him when I’m in trouble because I or someone I know is in trouble a lot.  But, when I read Psalm 50:14-15 – Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God and keep the vows you made to the Most High. 15 Then call on Me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give Me glory – I realized these verses meant offering thanks (instead of complaints) during times when things go wrong.

Thanking Him when I’m going through difficult times is as unnatural as me learning to tap dance. Because I have a relationship with God through Jesus, I have peace in knowing He will deliver me from, through or even change my circumstances.

With practice, my sacrifice of thankfulness won’t really be a sacrifice. It will be expression of immense gratitude to God for all that He does.
