2 Samuel 3-5; 1 Chronicles 12; Psalm 122, Acts 22
Psalm 122 is called a “song of ascent”. These are the songs the Jewish tribes would sing as they made their way up (ascended) hill to Jerusalem for the 3 annual festivals. They would gather for praise and worship, dancing and eating once a year. I’m so thankful that I get to gather together more than once a year to worship and praise.
Church is like the gatherings in Jerusalem. People getting together, bonding over their love of Christ and each other. Praying for and loving on each other.
When we gather to worship we honor God in a way that we can never do alone.
When we gather to pray for, and encourage our fellow Christians, we are so much stronger than when we stand alone in prayer. The feeling of love and belonging is second to none when we find our church.
My prayer is that we all are plugged in. That we don’t find going to church a chore, but instead, we look forward to meeting up with our brothers and sisters in Christ to worship (acknowledge God’s sovereignty).
Father, I am so grateful my church, and brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you, for the leaders, because that is where the unity begins. Continue to bless us all with Your spirit as we gather to acknowledge Your greatness week after week. Amen!
