2 Chr 8:11 Solomon brought Pharaoh’s daughter up from the City of David to the palace he had built for her, for he said, “My wife must not live in the palace of David king of Israel, because the places the ark of the LORD has entered are holy.”
I surrender all
I surrender all All to Thee my blessed Saviour I surrender all…Surrendering ALL?! Yes! Surrendering somethings is easy. But it’s not enough. God wants us to surrender all to Him. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
Solomon knew marrying Pharaoh’s daughter went against God’s Will, but power became more important than surrendering to God’s Will.
Just like Solomon, when we take that first step into disobedience, it becomes easier and easier to not only not surrender to God, but to begin to take back what we have already given Him.
God doesn’t want part of us. He commands our full attention and obedience. This world commands that in order to live here comfortably we must surrender to it. Go with the flow. Follow the crowd.
Here’s what we have to decide…will we let this temporary place dictate our eternal home?
My good, good Father…Thank you that you love me, even when I take the easy way out. Today, I want to truly surrender to Your Will for my life. Convict me, Father, when I chose anything else over You. Remind me that whatever I face today is temporary, and there is so much more. Give me patience, and peace to be still. In Jesus precious name. Amen.
