Ezekiel 28-30; John 10

“Egypt will become a desolate wasteland. Then they will know that I am the Lord. “ ‘Because you said, “The Nile is mine; I made it,” therefore I am against you and against your streams, and I will make the land of Egypt a ruin and a desolate waste from Migdol to Aswan, as far as the border of Cush.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭29‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Tyre, Sidon, and Egypt had a problem.  The same problem.  They foolishly assumed that they could take credit for the gifts that God bestowed on them.  Including their strength to fight off the enemy.

Whether it’s pride, or simply taking the things we have for granted, foolishly going about our lives without giving thanks daily for all that we have, or will be given, is a mistake we should take seriously.

We work hard for the things we have, but it’s our faithful and merciful God that makes it possible.

That perfect job- well, even a not so perfect job!  Is your house warm?  Are your children safe? Can you pay your bills?  Enjoy a vacation? Walk across the floor?  Can you take care of your loved ones who can’t?  Did you drive to work today?

Many know, what I loving call my dime story.  I was going through a rough patch and walking and worship music always makes me feel better.  As I walked, I said, “ God, if You never give me another dime, You have already blessed me more than I deserve.”  As I continued to walk, I saw a dime lying on the ground.  I picked it up and began to cry and thanked Him for that reminder.   I found 3-4 more dimes that day.  Since that I day, I never miss an opportunity when I find a coin to say Thank You, God!  The coins, while a blessing in them selves, are my reminder to be thankful for all blessings big and small.  The ones I see, and the ones I don’t.

God is faithful, but we must be thankful.  All the time!  Pride has no place in a relationship with God.

In comparison to Him, how could I even fathom that anything I have is because of my own power?

Lord, Thank You for the reminders You place in my path daily.  The ones that help me remember I am never alone, and if I was, I couldn’t  make a day without You.

I am thankful and this made me see I do not thank God enough for all his blessings
