1 Samuel 25; 1 Chronicles 7; Acts 17

by Charlie Simpkins

”“He is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since he is Lord of heaven and earth, he doesn’t live in man-made temples, and human hands can’t serve his needs—for he has no needs. He himself gives life and breath to everything, and he satisfies every need.“”
‭‭Acts ‬ ‭17‬:‭24‬-‭25‬

With the weather warming up this season, it’s easier to sit outside in the afternoon and enjoy the outdoors. Hearing the sounds of katydids buzzing and birds singing. Seeing the deep greens of the foliage and the vibrant colors of a sunset. It can easily take my breath away.

What amazes me more is that the God who created that and everything else in this world is the same God that gave me that breath. As vast and wondrous as Earth is and everything on it, God thought it just as important to make me and you.

So what can we do to honor our God? Does he need us to construct golden statues or build elaborate temples when He is the one who created the materials needed for it? No. As He is the one we turn to when in need, He doesn’t need empty gestures like that.

We can honor him by showing his love and compassion. With a God that has created everything, we can honor him by taking care of what He has entrusted us with: the people, the animals, and the Earth.
