Numbers 8-11, 1 Corinthians 1

Working hard and preparing by securing the proper education for that perfect job is something we can all relate to. We study and spend hours in a classroom. We work hard at jobs that aren’t our perfect job just to prepare.

When God  called me to begin serving in my church, I had barely been going to church regularly for very long. I thought surely this was a mistake. I had no vast knowledge of the Bible. I could barely recite a few verses I had memorized from childhood. What could I possible bring to the table? How could I make a difference?

But God didn’t intend for me to preach the service. He knew what my gifts were, and exactly what I brought to the table. Exactly where I was needed.

My time in service has been some of the best times of my life. I have been bounded with friends for a lifetime. But more importantly I have grown in my faith, and knowledge of the gracious Father.

God didn’t need me to be prepared. He prepares me everyday. He’s helped me every step of the way. Growing me to keep serving.

I encourage not to think you need to be prepared, or wonder what you bring to the table. Take that step. He will provide all you need to be prepared.

PRAYER: My most gracious Father, Thank You! Thank You that you believe in me far more than I believe in myself. Help me continue to take those leaps of faith and trust that you will always prepare me. In Jesus name…AMEN
