Proverbs 16-18; Romans 15

Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.

“We must maintain a delicate balance: trusting God as if everything depends on him, and working as if everything depends on us.”

Many times I “commit” things to God, only to have them start moving in a direction I hadn’t planned.   I am quick to snatch it back and begin to worry and struggle trying to get things back on track.

Other times, I only half heartedly commit my plans to the Lord because I have my own agenda.  Epic fail!  The two things that are wrong with that are:  1.  I can pretend to others, and even to myself, but never to God.  2.  If my plans were in line with God’s I wouldn’t be quiet so quick to only half commit my ways to the Lord.

When we remember that God wants all of  the good things for us that we want for ourselves, it becomes easier to commit our ways to him and trust His timing.  Easier, I said.  Not simple, or without question.

My prayer today is trusting without question God’s plan, even when I don’t see the plan!
