PROVERBS 2-3, ROMANS 10

We all have someone who was a great influence in our lives. For most of us, it’s a mother, or a mother figure. A grandmother, aunt , or a teacher that left a special mark in our lives. If we are really lucky, we have many great nurturers in our lives.

Guidance, nurturing, and kind, yet stern advice is what the wisdom that King Solomon refers to provides. It’s thought that is the reason the King refers to wisdom as a female. I can without a doubt say that I have many times wished I had adhered to the wisdom that was passed on to me.

Solomon says the she (wisdom that is) offers more than gold, silver or rubies, long life, and riches and honor, peaceful paths, and pleasant ways.

So, what should we be wise about? How we treat others? What we say? When we say it? All of the above! And so much more.

While wisdom is referred to as woman in Proverbs, wisdom comes in many ways. From many people.

Today’s Prayer: Open my eyes and my heart to the wisdom that surrounds me daily. Help me remember that wisdom is seeking what You have in store for me. In Jesus name. Amen
