Deuteronomy 6-9, Luke 7

”Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you;“
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭6‬:‭14‬

“It’s not entertainment, it’s evangelism.  These words hit me hard when Pastor Brandon spoke them on Sunday.

God knew the people of Israel would be tempted.  He carefully pointed it out and warned them not to led astray.

Our world today changes so fast with new gadgets, new games, new apps, new phones.  Let’s face it, technology is a part of life today, just as those gods that the Israelites would face were a part of that world.

So are all the new ways of communicating, keeping up with old friends, or sharing special moments bad things?  Not unless we make them gods.

So whether it be technology, money, food, drugs, worry, or  countless other things that we are drawn to in place of God’s comfort and peace, that’s our evangelism, our god.

Father, I rebuke all the things that draw my attention from you today.  Help me seek You in all that I do.  Help have discernment against  my physical contentment, and Your Spiritual contentment.  Help me find joy, and not just search for momentary happiness.  Thank you Lord for loving me, and the grace you provide everyday.  In Jesus precious name, Amen.
