Jeremiah 11-13; 2 Corinthians 12
“the terms I commanded your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, out of the iron-smelting furnace.’ I said, ‘Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God.”
Jeremiah 11:4 NIV
Some versions say, “ Listen to my commands”. Still others say, “Listen to my voice”.
God is an attentive God. He guides us with our complete story in mind. While we wonder about our next step, He already knows our next entire journey, and better still, wants to lead us to it and through it.
I know we have all entered a destination in the GPS, and then decided we knew a better way. What happens? If you’re like me, you expect your guide at any moment to just scream, “Why did you even bother to ask me?!?” But my GPS seems to be as patient as God and just keeps “recalculating”. I imagine instead of God saying recalculating, He kind of shrugs and sighs and says,” Ok, we will do it your way, but you’ll be sorry!”
Listening and obeying go hand in hand. Like peas and carrots! Like the GPS, God can direct us, but he won’t (not can’t) drive the car.
Happy Monday, Yall. Please let us know how we can pray for you today.
