Jeremiah 27, 28, 29, 24; James 4

“You adulteresses [disloyal sinners—flirting with the world and breaking your vow to God]! Do you not know that being the world’s friend [that is, loving the things of the world] is being God’s enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” James‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬ ‭

How can God be against the things of the world when He provides all that we have, and see?

God doesn’t not want us  to enjoy the pleasure He provides for us.  Where the problem starts is when we use the things, or people of the world in place of, or instead of God.

Social Media comes to mind.  It’s easily accessible, and you can search for anything you could possibly imagine.  Good or evil!

We use social media for inviting people to different things, or  announcing up coming events.  Journey uses social media to lead others to Christ. We know its value,  and do our best to never let its value outweigh its purpose. Just like the folks in the book of Jeremiah, we must be careful of false prophets, or information.

God doesn’t hate modern technology, but I wonder, how happy He can be with the value we place on it.

A Daily Prayer for the week: What in my life needs to change so I can worship God fully?
