“But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.”
2 Corinthians 2:14 NIV
I’m a planner. I like to know things ahead of time. I don’t like to take last minute trips. I need a schedule, an itinerary. And one little hiccup, one person not on time, traffic is heavier than anticipated, can send me over the edge and I just know the whole thing is ruined (insert drama face here). I do admire those fly by the seat of their pants people.
My husband and I love to take cruises. We were scouting out some deals one time, and someone advised us that we could go to the cruise terminal, wait for last minute cancellations, and get super good deals on the cruise. The simple thought sent me unhinged.
In the above verses, Paul reminds us that God is always guiding our steps. We may have a plan, but God knows where we need to be to lead others the Christ.
If He guides our path, He will surely provide a way.
When we find ourselves in situations, and feel the spirit leading us, we can always be confident that God not only guided our steps, but will provide all we need in that moment.
If plans change, or are changed due to circumstances beyond our control, we should expect that God is guiding our situation, and accept the situations as opportunities to let God move in the moment, and be confident that He will provide what we need.
