Idols make us Idle

I have spoken that “movement is mandatory” as we Explore the Bible (EtB). As GOD is guiding Jacob according to the purposes of GOD, the things that would interfere with sole worship to HIM had to be removed.

There are things that disconnect us from growing and moving closer in our relationship with GOD. It has been said you become what you worship. As we are to become like CHRIST, we must move towards HIM and not be “idle” in this process.

If a car is idling, it isn’t moving, for it is not in “drive.” Idle by definition means to be without purpose or effect, pointless. This is what idols do to us. Make our purpose in GOD null and void…idle.

LORD, we pray not to be idle in life but to rid our camps of all idols and thereby move closer to you step by step. For we know idols make us idle.

Amen! Sometimes there are things/people in our lives that we don’t even realize are idols that are keeping us idle. Ask God to reveal those things to you, and then listen closely as the Holy Spirit guides you.
