Joshua 1-3; Psalm 16; Luke 20

by Becky Hill Martin

Joshua 2:11
…For the Lord your God is the supreme God of the heavens above and the earth below.

How incredible is it that God used Rahab, a brave and bold woman, to hide Joshua’s spies? Now – Rahab wasn’t some picture-perfect, pearl-wearing-50s-sitcom housewife who darkened the church doors every time they opened. Nope, she was a woman with a past – a prostitute.

Despite her background, God saw her heart and her potential. He didn’t judge her based on her mistakes or her profession. Instead, He used her in a mighty way to fulfill His purpose.

You know what that tells me? It tells me that there’s no one too dirty, too sinful, or too insignificant for God to use. He doesn’t care about our past – He cares about our hearts and our willingness to serve Him. He can take the most unlikely people and use them to accomplish extraordinary things. That means you, me, and everyone else!

So, if you’re feeling like you’re not good enough or like your past is holding you back, remember Rahab. Remember that God’s grace is bigger than any mistake you’ve made. He can use you right where you are, no matter what you’ve done. All you have to do is trust Him and be willing to step out in faith.
