2 Chronicles 15-16; 1 Kings 16; Philemon

by Becky Hill Martin

2 Chronicles 15:7 – “But as for you, be strong and courageous, for your work will be rewarded.”

What is your “love language” or “language of appreciation in the workplace?” It’s not French or Portuguese for me. It’s words of affirmation. A simple “great job” only makes me work harder. When I hustle hard, and people just want more, I start wondering what’s it all for?

Same goes with my faith. When I pray for the person who cut me off instead of making a rude hand gesture and I don’t trash-talk that board member who constantly shoots all my suggestions down, I start looking for a “you go girl” from God. I know I shouldn’t want a shout-out because that’s how He wants me to live anyway. Still, it’s encouraging to hear I’m on track.

Good thing God left us words of affirmation in the Bible. 2 Chronicles 15:7 is like a divine pep talk directly from God.
When life throws challenges (and challenging people) our way, it’s easy to doubt our efforts. But here’s God, telling us to hang in there and keep pushing forward with strength and courage.

Every effort you make to live out your faith is seen and valued by God. This verse is a beautiful reminder that nothing goes unnoticed. Your hard work and dedication have a purpose and will be rewarded.

So, next time you’re feeling down or questioning if what you’re doing matters, remember 2 Chronicles 15:7. Stand strong, be brave, and keep doing your amazing work in His name. The reward is on its way, and it’s going to be worth it.
