Idols Make us Idle
“Do not make idols or set up carved images, or sacred pillars, or sculptured stones in your land so you may worship them. I am the Lord your God.” Lev. 26:1
I once heard a preacher say, “idols make you idle.” Meaning, when you worship something that is not God, we are at a stand still in this life. We are not moving towards the living God who paid the ultimate sacrifice so we can be saved from sin and delivered from all unrighteousness through Jesus and the cross.
We read in Hebrews 10 of this sacrifice of Christ and He is the one we worship and adore.
Prayer: LORD, it’s Tuesday and it’s already been a rough week. Distractions are everywhere and many are dealing with so many things that are pulling our attention to “it” and away from You. LORD, at this time, center our worship and attention on You. Calibrate our sight to see You in the midst of a world of idols. We love You! – Amen

February 28, 2023 at 11:34 amGood Morning, Pastor Kev- Lev 26:8, “Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before.”, reminds me that if I trust and obey, God is faithful to fight my battles.
I was wondering if another verse stood out to anyone else?
