Genesis 43-44; Psalm 24; Galatians 1

Committed to the Commission

Galatians 1:1 NLT
This letter is from Paul, an apostle. I was not appointed by any group of people or any human authority, but by Jesus Christ himself and by God the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead.

Yesterday we read of what is known as the “Great Commission” given by JESUS in Mark 16:15.

JESUS’ mission was to preach the Good News of the KINGdom of GOD, now we partner, hence the (co)mission we have from HIM.

Here we examine this verse in Galatians 1:1 that Paul is speaking of his appointment as one sent with this very “commission.”

What am I saying: We all who believe and have received the Good News are to share that Gospel with our lives.

Do our lives reflect this in how we live? For we are impressing on the hearts and minds of others how we live as disciples of CHRIST. Our lives reflect our commission, or lack thereof.

Prayer: LORD, we have been appointed by CHRIST to share the Good News, first allow it to be Good News to our hearts so we may therefore share our hearts with all. We know you will be with us as we fulfill our commission. Amen.

As you read Galatians, try to understand the conflict between grace and law, or faith and deeds, but also be aware of modern parallels. Like Paul, defend the truth of the gospel and reject who would add or twist this truth. You are free in Christ-step into the light and celebrate! —Life Application Study Bible.
