God is Enough.
Genesis 3:5 is an area I want to look at today. There is much in our reading today, but this has just stuck out to me.
At times we may feel tempted like Eve was tempted. We feel as if we are missing something. As if we do what God directs (Genesis 2:16-17) we will not to have all the “fun” that we could be having if God was not holding back from us. Satan stated that “you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
The question I pondered was: how were Adam and Eve already not like God? Made in His image, walked and talked with God, only one thing they could not do, eat from the tree God forbid, which was for their own good.
Beloved, God is not holding out on you. Do not allow Satan to tempt you into believing that lie. Same Satan, same tricks to this day. Yet, we have the serpent crusher (Genesis 3:15) of Christ living inside of us to not be disobedient to God, but to fully obey God. Today, in the face of temptation, learn from this fall account of Adam and Eve and allow Jesus to instill the confidence that God is enough!
