Malachi; Psalm 2; Revelation 9

“I am the Lord, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed. (Malachi 3:6)

The only reason why the descendants of Jacob had not been destroyed was because God does not change. He remains the same even when we change like the weather. Could you imagine God saying, “you know what, Jesus, only this or that person can receive salvation in Your name, I changed my mind.”  That would be so so bad.

Praise the Lord that He does not do this. Motorcycle riders know when you are out late coming from somewhere and they are all alone, that the stop light will not change because the motorcycle does not weigh enough to cause the pressure under the light to register a vehicle is there. BUT, no pressure will cause God to change.

That’s good news. Why? Just like the Israelites, we are people who change and rearrange almost daily. I’m gonna work out, nah, tomorrow. I am going to eat better, nah, next week, it’s the holidays. I am going to be nice to that one person, well, unless they say something crazy, and then it’s on like Donkey Kong!

From Malachi to Psalm 2 to Revelation 9 we see the nature of God and the nature of man. Even to the point where man will not change and accept Jesus (Revelation 9:20-21). I don’t know what you have experienced in life, but you can trust God to not change up on you…for He is the same…same God, caring, slow to anger, abounding in love God He has always been and will be.
