Ezekiel 34-36; Psalm 86; John 12

11 “For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search and find my sheep. (Ezekiel 34.11)

Good Shepherd

Good and bad, they are not the same. There is good food, and there is bad food. There is always a distinct difference and that is why one can be called “bad” and one “good.”

This weekend I officiated a wedding and food was served. Some thought the food was bad, due to many getting sick. I thought the food was good, but then again, I did not get sick.

The bad shepherds in the prior verses were the religious leaders who were feeding themselves and not the flock of God. The people of God should have been feed by those over them, but they weren’t.

Yet, we have in God the Good Shepherd. He Himself will search and find His sheep. Not only will He search and find them, He will feed them and take them to places of comfort. God is our Good Shepherd. Often we can look at our leaders in various capacities and forget that God is over it all. Trust God is shepherding all the affairs in your life, even when things look “bad,” for He is Good and He is Good to you.
