Isaiah 49-52; Psalm 69; 1 Corinthians 14
But as for me, my prayer is to you, O LORD. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love answer me in your saving faithfulness.(Psalm 69:13)
The Power of Prayer
Life has a way of “life-ing.” Meaning, life does not always shape into what we want or desire and often feels as if we are fighting against the wind and walking up hill on a snowy day.
Here is where the power of prayer comes in.
God has given us the opportunity to talk to Him about it all. This opens not only our mouths, but minds to know God will handle for us what seems to mishandling us.
When we are completely beaten down, we are tempted to turn from God, give up, and quit trusting him. When our situation seems hopeless, determine that no matter how bad life becomes, we will continue to pray. God will hear our prayer, and He will rescue us.
A month or so ago I lost my dog due to old age. The power of prayer in those moments not only shifted my heart, but left my mind at peace. The temptation loomed over me to just sulk and drown my emotions in frustration and bitterness…but God. So when life starts “life-ing” in your neck of the woods, bring the power for our lives of prayer into it, for it is true power.
