Genesis 6-8; Psalm 104; Mark 3

Restoration in Jesus.

In Genesis we find the accounts of the flood and God’s covenant with Noah. What sin had began God has now begun to restore to humanity. The psalmist speaks of God and His majesty and creative powers and rejoices over these things and resounds, “Praise the Lord.”(Psalm 104)

In Mark 3 we find Jesus continuing to do what began in Genesis, restoration. You ever restore something to its former glory? Returning it to a prior state that it once flourished in. Now imagine the Creator of all things doing this for His creation. Jesus says, “Stretch out your hand,” and a withered hand of a man is restored (Mark 3:5).

Simply, Jesus has come to restore the lost (Luke 19:10). We read the fall of man in Genesis 3, and we see Jesus at work giving life to a withered hand. We all are like that withered hand in sin, lifeless, yet existing. We need the restoration that only Jesus can grant. If you have an area in your life that is “withered,” please turn to Jesus and allow His word to restore it.
