2 Samuel 7-8; 1 Chronicles 17; Psalm 132; Acts 25
When King David was settled in his palace and the Lord had given him rest from all the surrounding enemies, the king summoned Nathan the prophet. “Look,” David said, “I am living in a beautiful cedar palace, but the Ark of God is out there in a tent!” (2 Samuel 7:1-2)
What happens in this chapter made me really reflect. Reflect on how I connect with God and my overall desire to honor Him. I normally do not share on such a direct personal level, but I think it is appropriate today.
David was king but recognized the KING. David was ever aware of God and that awareness moved him to action. What unfolds in the chapter is David wanting to do something for God and God ending up doing something for David. Something that David could not have expected or even imagined.
This is why I used myself in today’s post. I can not speak for you, but I desire to connect with God in a way that honors Him. Not for what God will do afterwards, but the position that puts my heart and life in. A position of continuous gratitude and love for the One who loved me even in my sin and graced me with His salvation.
LORD, who are we that You love us so, that You bless us so? We thank You for such a love that changes who we are and draws us closer to You every moment. We thank You LORD and we love You. We pray to honor You at all times and bless Your holy name. Amen.
