1 Samuel 21-22; 1 Chronicles 5; Psalm 52; Acts 15

“You will surely die, Ahimelech, along with your entire family!” the king shouted. And he ordered his bodyguards, “Kill these priests of the Lord, for they are allies and conspirators with David! They knew he was running away from me, but they didn’t tell me!” But Saul’s men refused to kill the Lord’s priests. (1 Samuel 22.16-17)

Jealously can have me do some weird stuff. Maybe you can relate, I know you can.

Being jealous of David has taken King Saul down a road where he is now killing the consecrated priests of GOD. Wow! How did we get here?

It starts with a king who is insecure and not connected with the GOD who put him in the position. It will end not well for King Saul.

Some things my friend we have to nip in the bud. Not let it grow and cause us to taint not only our relationship with GOD vertically, but our horizontal relationship with others.

Let us take a moment and deal with our jealously, so it won’t later dominate us…and we end up killing what GOD has anointed.

LORD, at no time should we be green with envy, for you have given us all in CHRIST JESUS. To look across at someone and be jealous is to take our eyes off of JESUS. Allow us these moments today and in the future to not move in jealously, but in Your everlasting love…Amen.
