1 Samuel 14; Psalm 124; Acts 10

by Faith Brady

And again Saul makes a “knee jerk reaction”.  But then the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree…14:1 “But he did not tell his father”.  Then Saul didn’t tell his son about the vow of no food.  Ok, why would the leader of the army, (v24 “And the men of Israel had been hard pressed that day”), make them not eat?  Wouldn’t weary soldiers be better in battle if they were fed?

Whoa…that’s good!  Are you fighting a battle right now?  Health issues, relationships, family, finances, work, etc. Are you weary?  Do you feel defeated and just want to give up?

What are you feeding yourself?  Social media?  TV?

How about this…try opening the Word of God and feeding yourself that instead.  We so many times look to the world for the answers when we have the answers we just don’t utilize them.  Psalm 124:8 “Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”  Call out to Him for your help, because “if it had not been the Lord who was on our side when people rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us up alive,”. Psalm 124:2-3 He is on your side. He delights in giving you His everything.

Sometimes I forget in my time of need to turn to Jesus and not my friends and family. Thank you Jesus for hearing me🙏🏼🙏🏼
