Isaiah 4-6; Matthew 23

So practice and obey whatever they tell you, but don’t follow their example. For they don’t practice what they teach. They crush people with unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden. (Matthew 23.3-4)

We have all heard it: “Practice what you preach.” This means to not only say something, but actually do what you say you are going to do. Talk is cheap, but not applying what we know to do for the LORD will cost us.

You are always only a click away from a word from someone about GOD or a YouTube clip of someone giving some form of Biblical insight or what not. It is pivotal that we not burden ourselves with much information and very little actual application. Paul said, “Only let us hold true to what we have attained.” (Phil. 3.16) Meaning, keep maturing in CHRIST and HIS ways, and the way this is done is through life application of HIS teachings and ways.

GOD has called us into the discipleship business as CHRISTians. Part of that is our lives will be constantly on display. What people see is not “perfection” in us, but they should see “progression” in us. As we grow we help others grow as we are all led by CHRIST through the HOLY SPIRIT to become mature disciples of CHRIST. Please dismiss things that are stunting your growth, burdens that are bringing you down, instead, take on CHRIST’s burden.
