Isaiah 30-32; 1 Corinthians 5

18 My people will live in safety, quietly at home.
    They will be at rest.
19 Even if the forest should be destroyed
    and the city torn down,
20 the Lord will greatly bless his people.
Wherever they plant seed, bountiful crops will spring up.
Their cattle and donkeys will graze freely. (Isaiah 32.18-20)

Hope…it’s a word that anchors us when the winds of this world seem to topple us over. What do you hope in? Is it a day off? Is it time with loved ones who do not live near by? Maybe you hope for me to stop asking you questions and get to my point, so I will. (lol)

Hope is “I get another chance” thinking. It is not having it now, but something in our brain starts to churn out thoughts and visions of what will be. I was once told hell is a place where there is no hope. The Spirit of God is what gives us hope now just as it did when Isaiah prophesied to the people of God.

You see, the Spirit is life giving and life sustaining. It allows us to have a hope that is eternal while living in the temporal state of the here and now. God brings us hope, and I truly believe that is the only hope that will sustain us. So, my challenge for you today is to do a hope audit. Look at what you hope in and align it all on Jesus. Let Him fill you afresh with His life giving Spirit…now that’s something to HOPE for!
