Exodus 38-40; Hebrews 1

by Faith Brady

You shall…” and “They shall…”. These are words we read in chapter 28-30.  God was giving the instructions to Moses.  Here in 38-40 we read “He made…”, who is he?  36:1 “Bezalel and Oholiab and every craftsman in whom the Lord has put skill and intelligence to know how to do any work in the construction of the sanctuary shall work in accordance with all that the Lord has commanded.

It took work to create all these things God had commanded.  Sweat, tears, long hours.  It wasn’t like creation where God spoke it was created.  That was for us!  This tabernacle was a place for the Lord to dwell.  Some of you are going to get a gift today that makes you full of joy.  Candy, flowers, a card, something that tells you that you are loved.  This tabernacle was a love gift to the Lord.  You know that feeling you get when you are overcome with emotion?  That’s what I imagine when I read 40:34 “Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle”.

I think the people could FEEL the presence of God in that place. To be a part of God’s plan and to have your fingerprints on the work he is doing through you is an amazing feeling.  39:43 “And Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had done it; as the Lord had commanded, so had they done it. Then Moses blessed them.”  They had done it.  Exactly like God commanded.  So they had done it.

What has God commanded you to do?  Deuteronomy 6:5You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”  Not build a temple or a tabernacle but to love him with all of you!  Happy 💕day!
