Genesis 32-34; Psalm 145; Mark 13

By Faith Brady

What are some of your favorite acrostics?

GRACE– God’s Riches at Christs Expense and JOY– Jesus first, Yourself last and Others in between are two of mine.  Psalm 145 is an acrostic using the Hebrew alphabet.  To extol means To praise highly; exalt.

This chapter is all about praising who God is.  A great chapter to read when you might be feeling down.  He is always worthy to be praised but sometimes we are so busy we seem to forget.  Verse 4 is a charge to us to tell the children in our lives about this amazing God we love.  Verse 8 “The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.”

We know God is a loving God but you know He has to get angry with us and our sinfulness.  But this verse tells us He is slow to anger.  He abounds in his steadfast love for us.  My prayer for us this year is “My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord,”. Verse 21.
