Genesis 6-8; Psalm 104; Mark 3

by Faith Brady

Bless the Lord, O my soul!
Praise the Lord! (Psalm 104:35)

Here we are 6 chapters into the Bible and the creation made in the image of God has gotten so far away from him that “the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.”(Gen. 6:6)  Talk about regret.

If you do New Years Resolutions, have you failed yet?  God created us to bring Him glory.  We failed.  Not just Adam and Eve.  US!!  I know “the world is different”, “it’s not like it was back then”.  God did not change, we did.  SIN took over.

What is sin?  ANYTHING we think, say, do or don’t do that is not pleasing to God.  I love that there was at least one man that was found right with God.  “Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God.”(Gen. 6:9).  Even when God asked a seemingly impossible task of Noah he obeyed.  I would like to think that Psalm 104 is the kind of worship Noah and his family displayed when they got off the ark.  “Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, you are very great!”(Psalm 104:1).
