2 Chronicles 22-23; 2 Kings 11; Psalm 131; Matthew 8
Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, “Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened.” And the young servant was healed that same hour. (Matthew 8.13)
I often, I would dare say very often don’t understand how GOD works things out. This isn’t an education or Bible thing. It is more of, “wow, I wouldn’t have imagined that connected to that would produce that” type of thing.
In Matthew 8 and the section we are focusing on there is an obedience to belief connection. The soldier believed because he understood authority and chain of command. Being a military vet, this narrative stands out to me greatly.
When told to fly a mission, we as aircrew did not have the luxury of “feeling” like doing it or not. The commander said this is the mission, so we flew it and completed our tasking for the day. Why? Because we trusted the authority of the one who gave us the order and fully believed that what was directed was what was needed to be executed.
JESUS is our ultimate authority and placing our total belief in HIM is what will execute many things in our life based off our faith in HIM. This is not saying HE is a genie in a bottle type GOD. This is saying that our obedience to HIS Word reveals our faith.
