2 Samuel 18-20; Psalm 34 Romans 2

by Faith Brady

Times are hard.  I would love to say “things are gonna get better.”  Even David, the King, was having hard times.  He was run out of town (by his son), his son was killed, when he accepted the tribes of Israel back in a traitor came with them.  I know several people that have lost loved ones recently.  This coming week Kelly and I remember both our dads that we lost on Memorial Day weekend 11 years apart.  It’s sad.  It hurts.

Then I read “The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry.” Psalm 34:15 and “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.” Psalm 34:17 and “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18.

These verses comfort me because my Lord does not lie.  He hears, He delivers, He is near, and He saves.  Then verse 19…”Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”  We are not promised a life with no troubles but we are promised HE will deliver us out of them ALL.  You may not be delivered today, tomorrow or next week BUT…you will be delivered.  Praying for you!  🙏🏻🫵🥺
