I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart;
I will sing your praises before the gods. (Psalm 138.1)
David knew how to worship and praise God. Many psalms were written by him and express his deep devotion for God. It was not because all the situations worked out in his favor, but because David had a thankful heart for his God.
Tomorrow will be filled, for some of us, with food and family and a sub-coma after we enjoy both until our hearts content. We are thankful for the family and the food and most of all our faith in Jesus.
Maybe this is not your story, though. Maybe this time of the year brings more work and even less giving thanks due to all you are facing. But let me tell you directly, God loves you and He is the family for all who may lack one. Psalm 68.6 says that God places the lonely in families. O’ thank you God!
So wherever you may find yourself this year, please give God thanks for all, for He truly loves you, and so do I.
