1 Come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come to him with thanksgiving.
Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
3 For the Lord is a great God,
a great King above all gods. (Psalm 95.1-3)
Monday I was discussing with a pastor friend about God’s unconditional love. How God’s love is not dependent on anything but who He is and not who or what we are.
As I read this morning, the thought of unconditional worship of God came to mind, as well. I am a Dallas Cowboys fan (hold your booing and hissing until you hear me out, lol)*. So I definitely understand cheering on a team only to be let down at a certain point.
God never lets us down. It is not in His nature or who He is. He is a great God, there is none to compare to Him. He rules with love and justice and cares for us in the specific ways we need Him to. He is a King that rules His Kingdom for the benefit of His people and the glory of His name.
So our worship of Him is due to Him because of who He is. So we sing to the Lord, the Rock of our salvation. On good days, worship. On bad days, worship. On any day, worship. Come, LET US WORSHIP THE LORD!
