Isaiah 36-37; Psalm 123; 1 Corinthians 10

So, my dear friends, flee from the worship of idols. (1 Corinthians 10.14)

No Idols

Distractions seem to not delay and continuously pull us under their sway. Phones seem to have pulled us in and we spend more times looking at them than at times our loves ones or friends. I know I can be guilty of this.

How do we change this?

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10.31)

As many idols as they are that pull us away from our worship to God, the way we combat this is by living in all ways for the glory of God. We spoke about lifestyle yesterday, and now we see again how living for and in the Lord does more than we might see at first glance.

A natural drawing close to God pulls us away from things that would be idols for us. Idols want what only God deserves: our worship. Today I am challenging myself, and you can join me in this, to draw close to God as to allow my devotion to Him pull me away from anything that would steal my worship for itself. Lord, we say: No Idols!
